長期從事電磁理論、天線設計和無線通信的科研工作和教學。科研興趣主要集中在天線設計、微波器件、混沌理論與套用、微波輻射的生物效應及無線通信等領域。在國際雜誌和會議上共發表160多篇論文（包書籍章節）。

人物經歷
教授，兼職博士生導師。兼職碩士生導師，現任英國倫敦大學瑪麗女王學院電子工程系教授，兼任北京郵電大學電信工程學院客座教授。曾參加組織過數十個國際會議，並於2002年6月在中國北京召開的IEEE第9屆國際電信會議上擔任執行主席；2003年在4月在英國倫敦召開的IoP/IEE射頻與人體互作用：機理、輻射及醫療套用國際研討會上擔任聯合主席；2004年7月在英國舉行的IEE超寬頻無線系統國際研討會上擔任主席；並將於2007 年在IEEE 國際天線技術研討會上擔任主席。陳曉東教授現任英國工程與物理科學基金會評審委員會委員和中國自然科學基金委員會特聘海外評審專家。
