人物圖組織光學成像理論與技術：研究光在生物組織的傳輸規律，根據組織尺度及生理特點構建組織光學特性參數測量平台，發展組織成像理論、方法與技術。
光子醫學診斷原理與套用：研究正常組織、病變組織、以及包括雷射、熱、藥物在內的各種物化方法對組織結構與功能的影響，探討疾病的早期診斷與療效評價的新技術與新方法。
雷射治療原理與套用：研究雷射與生物組織相互作用，建立合理的雷射-組織作用劑量的理論模型，發展生物組織光透明方法，在確保療效的情況不損傷正常組織。近年來，特別專注雷射皮膚美容新原理與新方法研究。
