本書以管理創新，頂端戰略，可持續發展理論為基礎，以系統論為方法指導，採用理論研究與調查問卷相結合，定性分析與定量分析相結合，實證研究與理論創新相結合的方法，研究了古生物化石管理創新的體系、機制、績效及評價方法，給出了遼寧古生物化石管理創新實證和實現策略等。 本書可供從事古生物化石管理的中高層管理人員、大專院校管理類專業的師生閱讀。
前言
古生物化石管理創新機制在古生物化石管理中居核心地位，是古生物化石保護、管理、科研、科普和合理利用的中心環節，同時，有利於提升其自主創新能力和管理水平，有利於取得更持久的頂端優勢和競爭力，有利於經濟、生態、社會可持續發展。
古生物化石是不可替代資源，它的科研價值、經濟價值決定了既需要保護、研究，又需要利用、發展。特別是在建立正確的創新機制基礎上，如何制定保護規劃和整合現有資源，獲得綜合效益持續增長，實現管理效益的昀大化，進而促進古生物化石科學研究和科普教育。為了促進古生物化石資源優勢轉化為市場優勢和經濟優勢，並昀終對經濟效益、生態效益、社會效益產生綜合影響，我將多年來的研究成果，並精選國內外一些先進的經驗和理論，編撰成書，奉獻給廣大讀者。
本書是集多項研究成果為一體的探討性著作。從 1993年開始我對古生物化石的研究經歷了由感興趣到開始研究，直至如醉如痴、不能自拔的程度。多年來主要公開發表了《生物化石管理創新關鍵因素研究》、《古生物化石管理創新調查問卷分析》、《我國古生物化石資源可持續發展研究》等論文；主持了遼寧省國土資源重點科研課題“遼寧古生物化石管理創新研究”“古生物化石管理創新研究——基於機制與模式創新視角的研究”和“古生物化石管理創新與績效實證研究”等。通過收藏、科研等活動，積累了一定的古生物化石管理理論知識和實踐經驗，產生了一些自己的關於古生物化石管理創新的想法，形成了一些有理論價值與實際套用價值的理論。同時，這些古生物化石管理創新研究成果為保護規劃制定、機制完善等方面提供了強有力的理論支持。
在我主持的多項古生物化石管理創新理論與實踐的研究中，我的同學、朋友、妻子和兒子給予了極大的支持和幫助，並已形成了穩定的課題研究團隊。主要研究成員有：劉雪凌、韓立卓、李凌己、孫永山、張立軍、薛小喆、王鑫、李永軍、金萬峰、潘伶、劉存義、郭志春等。我和我的課題組研究成員公開發表了一系列學術論文，構成了本著作的核心內容，並作為附錄附後。
