Shanghai Minhang Welfare Institution was founded in December 1987. Located in north of Xinzhuang Town, the seat of Minhang District government, the welfare institution covers 15,642 square meters of land with 5,400 square meters of floorage, there are more than 200 beds for different kinds of residents.
The welfare institution is just like a small beautiful park. It has completed service facilities for the living, entertainment and medical treatment of the residents. The main building is divided into three divisions according to different physical conditions of the residents. Each division has a complete set of living facilities, such asbathroom, gymnasium, library, reading room, TV room, and recreation room. Each bedroom has its own toilet. Also each division is equipped with medical facilities: clinic, emergency room, laboratory, X-ray room, electrocardiogram room, physiotherapy room, to keep the health of the residents. The welfare institution mainly takes in three kinds of people who need to be helped: the older who live along, the disable and the orphan.
