Microsoft Azure 提出來的一種開源的分散式框架，於2015年開源。它提供了一個簡單的方法來構建分散式互動式應用程式，而無需學習複雜的編程模式來處理並發性，容錯性和資源管理。
Project "Orleans" invented the Virtual Actor abstraction, which provides a straightforward approach to building distributed interactive applications, without the need to learn complex programming patterns for handling concurrency, fault tolerance, and resource management. Orleans applications scale-up automatically and are meant to be deployed in the cloud. It has been used heavily by a number of high-scale cloud services at Microsoft, starting with cloud services for the Halo franchise running in production in Microsoft Azure since 2011. The core Orleans technology was transferred to 343 Industries and made available as open source in January 2015.
