Kate Greenaway(1846年3月17日—1901年11月6日)是英國維多利亞時代最有影響力的童書插畫家。Kate Greenaway的畫風優雅清新,設計的圖書常以圖文混排的形式使插畫與文字默契搭配。她喜歡畫可愛的孩子、母子親情,人物形象甜美,透著鄉村的浪漫氣息。有無數孩子是在Kate Greenaway繪畫的童書陪伴下長大,甚至成為著名的插畫家,如擅長畫小花仙的Cicely Mary Barker。1860年, Kate Greenaway和Walter Crane、Randolph Caldecott(1846-1886)等與當時著名的出版家Edmund Evans(1826-1905)合作出版彩色圖畫書。畫家們的出色藝術才華改寫了插畫的歷史,吸引公眾關注插畫藝術,推動插畫藝術的發展.
1955年,英國圖書館協會(The Library Association)為了紀念Kate Greenaway在插畫領域的貢獻創辦了“凱特·格林納威獎”。現在,“凱特·格林納威獎”成為世界插畫界最重要的獎項之一。美國圖書館協會(ALA)為了紀念與同時代的著名插畫家Randolph Caldecott於1938年創立了凱迪克金牌獎(Caldecott Medal)和銀牌獎(Caldecott Honor)。
