維吉尼亞·伍爾夫Virginia Woolf(1882-1941)1882年生於倫敦的一個書香名門之家。 22歲時開始在《泰晤士報》等報刊上發表文章。代表作有小說《雅各布之屋》《達洛維夫人》《到燈塔去》《海浪》;文學評論集《普通讀者》和女權問題論著《一間自己的房間》等。1941年;伍爾夫在鄉間的住所寫完了她的最後一部小說《幕間》;又一次陷入了精神病的痛苦。於是;她將自己勤奮寫作的一生結束在一條河流之中。伍爾夫是引導現代主義潮流的先鋒。她和喬伊斯;普魯斯特等一起把意識流小說推向世界;極大地影響了世界範圍內傳統的寫作手法。她被認為是20世紀最偉大的小說家之一。 王家湘:北京外國語大學英語系教授。曾被中國翻譯協會授予“資深翻譯家”稱號。主要譯著有《小世界》《雅各布之屋》《達洛維夫人》《到燈塔去》《沙堡》《我的人生故事》《青春》《他們眼望上蒼》《湯姆叔叔的小屋》《瓦爾登湖》等。2014年獲第六屆魯迅文學獎文學翻譯獎。
