《高級漢英/英漢口譯教程》分上、下兩冊，是一本集口譯理論與實踐為一體，以培養學生漢英、英漢口譯能力為主的口譯教程。教程以題材為線索，課文與練習內容圍繞我國政治、經濟、文化、教育、社會、金融、保險、科技、人口、環境、航天事業的發展等方面，題材廣泛，形式多樣。使用對象為高校英語專業學生，以及從事外交、外貿、對外文化交流、對外宣傳、外事服務和旅遊等的涉外工作人員。
英語是世界上最重要的國際語言，是我國的第一外語。隨著我國與世界各國交往的日益頻繁，口譯作為對外聯繫的紐帶與橋樑的作用日漸重要，學生漢英、英漢口譯能力的培養已成為本科英語教學的重要內容，口譯課也因此受到學生的普遍歡迎。廣東外語外貿大學自1978年起在高校本科高年級率先開出“英語口譯”課程以來，現已發展成為以“高級翻譯”專業為龍頭的“英語口譯”系列課程，並被評為廣東省高校省級“重點課程”。本教程供英語本科三年級“英語口譯”課使用。學生通過本課程的學習，將大大提高漢英/英漢口譯能力，同時對從事外事工作，宣傳我國經濟與文明建設成就，弘揚中國文化傳統，進行國際交流，都有極大的幫助。
