子曰：“見賢思齊焉，見不賢而內自省也。”
【大意】看到賢人就向他學習，希望能和他一樣。看到不賢的人要從內心反省自己有沒有跟他相似的毛病。
【提示】這是孔子說的話，也是後世儒家修身養德的座右銘。“見賢思齊”是說好的榜樣對自己的震撼，驅使自己努力趕上；“見不賢而內自省”是說壞的榜樣對自己的“教益”，要學會吸取教訓，不能跟別人墮落下去。孟子的母親因為怕孟子受到壞鄰居的影響，連搬了三次家；杜甫寫詩自我誇耀“李邕求識面，王翰願為鄰”，都說明了這種“榜樣的作用”。
