洛倫茲群為閔可夫斯基時空中,所有洛倫茲變換所構成的群,其涵蓋了除了引力現象以外的所有經典場。洛倫茲群是以荷蘭物理學家亨德里克·洛倫茲來命名。
本書試圖用數學的方法處理被洛倫茲增強的構建波函式的問題。全書共分為十章,分別介紹了洛倫茲群與它的表示、關於內部時空對稱性的維格納小群、維格納小群的二乘二表示、帶有三個分支的一個小群、洛倫茲協變諧振子、洛倫茲協變世界中的夸克與部分子、光的耦合振子與壓縮態、光線光學中的洛倫茲群等。
