劉安棟博士於2012年作為訪問助理教授加入長江商學院；他於2012年獲得美國加州大學聖地亞哥分校（University of California, San Diego）經濟學博士學位，並在2005和2000年分別獲得加州大學聖塔芭芭拉分校（University of California, Santa Barbara）和史丹福大學（Stanford University）授予的經濟學碩士與經濟學學士學位。
