The word Pentateuch came from the Greek. “Penta”, which meant “Five”. It was the name of the first five books of the Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. These books were attributed to Moses and were also known as “The Law”. It was one of the most important documents in Judaism as it represented the words that had been revealed by god.
