The Ting Tings 是2007年在格拉斯頓伯里音樂節上表演後開始被眾人關注的。2007練電視轉播的英國格拉斯頓伯里音樂節（Glastonbury Festival）上，Ting Tings 組合在給人以引人注目的出色表現，並以此在流行樂壇上擁有了一批專注的擁護者。

早期經歷
Katie White 的首次亮相，是在她還是個少女時，在一個女孩組合TKO - short forTotal Knock Out。這支樂隊，由Katie White 和她兩個朋友共同組成。他們的演出資助，像Steps and Five那樣，但絕不是簽約一張唱片或者發行一張專輯的。Jules De Martino 的音樂之路是從一個年輕的，名為Babakoto的樂隊開始的，並且在1987年推出了首支單曲“Just To Get By”。在Babakoto解散之後，De Martino 加入了一直獨立的搖滾樂隊“Mojo Pin”。Mojo Pin共發行了兩首單曲，分別是在1995年時的You“You”，和1996年時的“My Imagination”。

他們的首支單曲“ That's Not My Name”，帶著Switchflicker的地方感覺，和他們的第二首單曲“Fruit Machine”，在British電台，一起滾動播放，就像獨立音樂一樣。Fruit Machine是一個限量版的，發行在只有500張的七寸專輯“Legendre Starkie Records”，並且只有在樂隊在slington Mill in Salford,Eleckrowerkz in Islington,West Germany in Berlin and at Glasslands in Brooklyn,New York City 這些地方的演出時，才有銷售。
早在2007年五月，當Ting Tings樂隊還屬於獨立廠牌Switchflicker的時候，他們就把主打單曲《That's Not My Name》和《Great DJ》放在一起發行過。但或許是宣傳的問題，這兩首歌的原型在當時並沒有能夠引起大家的注意。

在主打曲目《That's Not My Name》獲得英國流行音樂單曲榜的冠軍一周之後，來自英國曼城的獨立流行二人組丁丁樂隊的第一個專輯《We Started Nothing》又在本周的英國專輯榜中折桂。在英國的 BBC Radio 1 and Xfm播出後，使一些像NME這樣的雜誌，銷量大增。他們還在In New Music We Trust stage at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Maidstone,Kent的舞台上，進行了現場表演，這場演出，BBC還進行了現場網路視頻直播。樂隊的第一張專輯，也排到了Billboard Hot 100的第55位。又一首單曲，We Started Nothing，在08年5月19日正式推出。是的，雖然這首歌曲在08年5月13號時，就已經在泄露在網上。但，很快的，在這張專輯發行之後，樂隊發表在social network service MySpace發表了一份聲明，說明了他們的單曲“That's Not My Name”，已經拿到了 UK Singles Charts榜首的位置這份聲明，鼓勵他們的歌迷，去購買正版專輯，以保證能夠取得官方Sunday Chart的第一名，在5月18日那天。不出所料，樂隊穩穩的獲得了第一名，在5月18日的UK singles chart。專輯的北美版本，也將會在6月3號，正式發行。
媒體評價
2008年4月，蘋果在iPod + iTunes的廣告中使用了樂隊的“Shut Up and Let Me Go”。這個廣告可以在電視及apple的官網中看到
在一次偶然的創作中誕生的作品“Great DJ”成為了The Ting Tings第一首廣受歡迎的作品。後來The Ting Tings將自己的另一首作品“That's Not My Name”和“Great DJ”收錄在一起發行了樂隊的第一張單曲〈Great DJ〉，由於經費的緊張，這張單曲只印製了500張，結果首批發行很快就銷售一空，並且這張單曲在英國的限量發行版也登上了NME（英國著名音樂雜誌）的“本周單曲”；而The Ting Tings掛在Myspace上的作品也得到了廣泛的關注，被MySpace註冊成員瀏覽超過170萬次。
應該說，《We Started Nothing》的發行挑準了時機。它選在這個沒有其他英國新人發片的時候容易得到關注，而且這個春夏交接的季節本身也是非常適合聽Ting Tings這種活力四射的音樂。輕鬆、跳動的旋律，Katie White漫不經心的演唱再加上合適的商業定位使得這張《We Started Nothing》一經發行就得到了很好的市場反應，不過，在早已泛濫的Indie大潮中，Ting Tings本身似乎還缺少一些能夠讓人記住的特質。
新專輯We Started Nothing於08年5月19號發行，並馬上獲得UK專輯榜第一名。
“That's Not My Name”，在08年5月18日還獲得了UKSingles Chart的第一名。二專 The Tings Tings have confirmed they have completed work on their second album which will follow-up their debut 2008 album ‘We Started Nothing’.

The album is expected to be a change of direction for the duo who have been away recording tracks in German city Berlin last Christmas. Talking to BBC’s Newsbeat,singer Katie White revealed the new record was “"very different to the first one. It's still us and it's still pop. It's just huge."
