克利·泰勒（Corey Taylor），現“石酸”樂隊主唱兼核心人物，“活結”樂隊8號歌手；吉姆·魯特（JimRoot），現“石酸”樂隊吉他手，“活結”樂隊4號吉他手。“活結”樂隊的DJ施德·威爾森（Sid Wilson）也在裡面參與了三首歌的創作。吉他手佐什·蘭德（Josh Rand），貝司手肖恩·伊康納瑪奇（Shawn Economaki）以及鼓手喬·艾克門（Joel Ekman）。其中的貝司手、鼓手和泰勒一樣都是樂隊創始成員，到現在已經是元老了。吉姆是1995年加入的，但他的到來是“石酸”樂隊的轉折點，樂隊自此形成了完整的4人陣容，找到了自己的特點，成為當地首屈一指的樂隊。之前他們都沒有明確的方向，還只是在當地一些俱樂部和酒吧里演出。另一位吉他手佐什是在2000年才正式加入的，但實際上他並不是一個新人，因為此前他也曾在“石酸”中做過一段時間的臨時吉他手，也是泰勒的老朋友了。到這個時候，“石酸”成為一個5人編制的樂隊，陣容進一步穩固，元老們也再一次完整地重聚，而泰勒此時也可以專注地做他的主唱了。此時，“石酸”可謂開始走向二度梅開。
樂隊簡介
就象樂隊名字代表的那種酒般如此醉人（一份威士忌並沖入橘子水以混入酸味），Stone Sour的專輯可以說也象莫洛托夫雞尾酒——一份讓人興奮的純搖滾音樂元素並沖入大量旋律。“我們的音樂是一種旋律化的硬搖滾，充滿著安逸和自發性。”Stone Sour的主唱Corey Taylor說道，“Stone Sour給我一個實踐創作歌詞的機會，我一直喜歡創作些歌詞，但Slipknot不怎么可能給我這個機會”。在繼承了Taylor和Root組成的其他樂隊風格里的重型元素，作為Stone Sour音樂的根基——雖然樂隊表演的時候不再戴Slipknot式的面具，同時在音樂中還呈現一種更為內省同時更為親切的音樂質地。
Stone Sour最初由Taylor和鼓手Joel Ekman組建於1992年，樂隊可以說是長達10年所醞釀的那堅定的信念、耐心和創造性的表現能力的結晶。Taylor的摯友——貝斯手Shawn Economaki在樂隊成立之初加入了陣容。起初Stone Sour並沒有明確的音樂發展方向，只知道創作好的歌曲，並與很多吉他手合作過在一些俱樂部里搞演出，有時這些吉他手和樂隊就只做一次合作便散了。而Stone Sour的轉折點在1995年，那年吉他手Jim Root——Jim而後還和Corey Taylor加入了Slipknot，得到機會和Stone Sour一起嘗試合作。這對樂隊來說是一個決定性時刻，因為從此標誌著Stone Sour完整形成自己的陣容，成為一個新的整體。5年來Stone Sour沒對自己的音樂風格有過特別的思考，僅以他們自己的激情來做音樂，或者說，始終把音樂基於一種硬搖滾風格、優美的旋律以及情感的起伏上。
但到1997年Taylor對Stone Sour漸漸失去興趣，不再把精力放在樂隊上，最後離開了Stone Sour加入到Slipknot，他的離開也讓原先Stone Sour的成員各奔東西。 Joel自己建立了個家庭，而Jim在Corey加入Slipknot後一年也加入了他們的行列。Shawn繼續給Shawn做經理——於是Stone Sour一手打造的傳奇故事便由此擱淺。
也許看上去是這樣，但——
到2000年吉他手Josh Rand，還有Corey的另一個老朋友，也是他的一位合作者，加上以前Stone Sour的隊員，用Corey曾經致力創作的一些歌打動了他。於是這群人共同一起度過了一年半創作新歌，並最終再次組成了現在的Stone Sour。樂隊齊整後，決定復興曾經一手打造如此高質量的音樂技藝以及老Stone Sour原汁原味的音樂根基，因此很自然，只有招募原先Stone Sour的老隊員才能成功做到以上的幾點。就在樂隊最初成立的十年之後、樂隊第一次登台表演的六年之後，Stone Sour的原班人馬再次聚集Des Moines。待人員齊整後就提出了為樂隊挑個名字的問題——最後篩選了不少點子（如Project X,Superego,Closure等等），名字還是很快地定奪下來。由於許多成員對於幾年前的共同表演生活依然念念不忘，Stone Sour這個名字就又這么回來了。
