Frank L. Lewis,1981年獲美國喬治亞理工學院電氣工程專業博士學位,現任美國德克薩斯大學阿靈頓分校電氣工程系教授,自動化及機器人研究所主任,美國德克薩斯州的註冊職業工程師,Chartered Engineer U.K. Eng. Council。他是IEEE Fellow,International Federation of Automatic Control(IFAC)Fellow,U.K. Institute of Measurement & Control(InstMC)Fellow。現擔任Automatica,IEEE Trans. Neural networks,IET Control Theory & Applications,Journal of Control Theory and Applications副主編,多個國際期刊的編委以及多個國際會議的主席/副主席。獲得6項美國專利,在國際一流刊物上發表期刊論文250篇,撰寫專著章節或百科全書文章共51部,在國際會議上發表論文364篇,撰寫專著15部。

1971年,獲得萊斯大學物理與電氣工程專業學士學位
1971年,獲得萊斯大學電氣工程學碩士學位
1977年,獲得西佛羅里達大學航空航天系統專業理學碩士學位
1981年,獲得喬治亞理工學院控制系統、電氣工程專業博士學位
講授課程
最優控制、智慧型控制、線性控制系統、非線性控制系統、分散式控制與決策、控制系統、系統辨識與估計。
主要研究方向
智慧型控制、分散式控制、神經網路和模糊系統、無線感測器網路非線性系統、機器人技術、過程控制。
學術兼職和榮譽
美國電氣和電子工程師協會(IEEE)會士,國際自動控制聯合會 (IFAC)會士,英國測量與控制學會會士,美國德克薩斯州註冊專業工程師,英國特許工程師,德克薩斯州立大學阿靈頓分校傑出學者學會的創辦人(2004),自動化與機器人研究所的高級研究員。地中海控制協會的董事理事會的創始會員。曾擔任希臘德謨克利特大學的訪問教授,香港科技大學香港中文大學,香港城市大學,新加坡國立大學南洋理工大學。曾任上海交通大學華南理工大學的客座諮詢教授。
