Emotions是Mariah Carey的第二張專輯。專輯的首支單曲Emotions成為了Mariah的第5支冠軍曲，也造就了Mariah Carey連續五支單曲成為冠軍的一個記錄。
專輯發行於1991年9月17日。發行首周取得Billboard專輯榜第4名成績。也是該專輯在專輯榜的最好成績。銷量為5白金。在美國，專輯銷量為4,850,000張。在日本，專輯銷量為1,000,000張。全球專輯+單曲銷量為14,500,000張，其中專輯9,500,000張。而專輯中的其他兩支單曲Can’t Let Go和Make It Happen分別取得了單曲榜第2名和第5名的成績。Till the End of Time只發行了宣傳單曲。其中Emotions也創造了50萬張金唱片的銷量成績。1992年2月該專輯在英國取得專輯榜第4名成績。
一開始專輯定名為The Wind（在完成The Wind之後），將Emotions發行單曲後，才最終將專輯定名為這個名字。專輯中Mariah再次展現了他的合作才能。第一支單曲也不負所望。隨著Emotions在十月中旬成為Mariah的第五支冠軍，Mariah因此成為歷史上首位剛入歌壇所推出的前五首單曲均為冠軍曲之記錄創造者。（打破了保持二十一年的，由Jackson 5保持的首四支單曲冠軍的記錄）
1991年9月Mariah在第8屆MTV獎頒獎典禮現場演唱了Emotions，原本很多DJ都不相信唱片中該曲尾部分的超級高音是真的人聲，認為那是機器的效果。在這次現場表演中，Mariah輕鬆的演唱立即粉碎了不利於她的不實謠言。
1991年12月，在第2屆Billboard雜誌年度音樂獎中，Mariah囊括了“最佳流行單曲藝人”等六項大獎。1992年1月Mariah因為Emotions專輯入圍葛來美獎“最佳女歌手”和“最佳製作人”（與Walter Afanasieff一起入圍）兩項大獎。在第19屆全美音樂獎中，Mariah榮獲“最受歡迎靈魂/節奏藍調女藝人”獎。
