Elisa Toffoli 幼年時即展現出了舞蹈，繪畫，表演和寫作方面的才能，但之後的歷程證明了她在音樂方面有著更加非凡的天賦。她在11歲時就開始寫歌，15歲時開始活躍在義大利的電視歌唱大賽上。當她18歲時，來到了美國加州的Berkeley，94年她把自己的一張demo碟寄給了Sugar唱片，馬上引起該公司高層的注意，很快，她獲得了著名製作人Corrado Rustici的提攜發表了自己的單曲，並和曾為Whitney Houston，Aretha Franklin和Zucchero製作專輯的知名製作人Corrado Rustici合作，開始為自己的首張專輯做準備。97年首張專輯Pipes & Flowers一上市就獲得了雙白金的銷量，98年獲Premio Tenco Award 最佳專輯榮譽！這是Elisa的個人第三張專輯，於2001年11月9日正式推出。製作人依然是Corrado Rustici。專輯中的四首單曲分別是："Heaven Out of Hell" (獻給母親的歌)，"Rainbow"(義大利單曲榜上曾排名第5)，以及Remix版的"Time"和"Dancing"。專輯發行後獲得3白金銷量。
她2008年發行了專輯dancing 2006年發行了十年精選。
她曾經和著名的美國格萊美天后Tina Turner合唱過一曲"Teach Me Again" 並在義大利排行第一。，她是在義大利之外立足的，唯一用英語發行專集，而成名歌手。
