3D立體顯示鑄造過程模擬仿真案例集

前言

Modeling and simulation for castings has been prospering from 1980’s. Currently, there are about a dozen popularly used commercial software and also some software and programs used for research purpose. Although 3D stereoscopic display technology is coming into more and more common use in the field of entertainment such as movies and games, this technology is fresh in industry and scientific research. Ten years ago, Prof. Liu Baicheng deemed that it must be a tendency of its application in the area of modeling and simulation, and installed a big grating 3D Display. In recent years, we have developed the new 3D stereoscopic display system for the modeling and simulation of casting process.
A dozen of typical casting case studies are organized from the twenty years of research experience, all of the simulated results were treated into red-cyan pictures and movies for 3D display in this book. The contents including the STL meshes, finite difference meshes and finite element grids, and the simulated results of solidification process (shrinkage/porosity and fluid flow during mold filling, temperature, stress, strain, displacement fields). By the 3D pictures and movies (provided in the CD-ROM), the detailed results can be more easily observed, especially for complicated castings. 3D stereoscopic visualization represents the tendency of display technology in the future although there is inconvenience by glasses-aided viewing.
In this album, a CD-ROM is attached, which includes the 3D pictures in the book and 3D movies. The album can be read and the electronic files can be displayed on nearly all traditional media, 3D effect can be felt as you wear the red-cyan glasses folded in the album.
