(2) 衰老過程伴隨著能量代謝降低與肥胖,但機制尚不清晰。研究發現Foxa3基因在衰老過程中通過與CREB競爭PGC1α啟動子結合而抑制PGC1α轉錄,影響棕色和米色脂肪產熱和能量代謝,引發衰老過程中的能量代謝降低。而Foxa3敲除小鼠防止衰老引起的肥胖和胰島素抵抗,延長小鼠壽命(PNAS, 2014) ,受到NIH官方網站熱點推薦“Removing a Protein Prevents Obesity, Extends Lifespan in Mice”,被F1000最高分“Exceptional”推薦和Adipocyte雜誌邀請評論 (Adipocyte, 2015)。
