一種顯示優異的螢光性質和鈣反應性的鈣報告蛋白通過提供DNA而獲得,在所述DNA中,編碼鈣/鈣調素依賴性蛋白激酶激酶的鈣調素結合序列(ckkap序列)的核苷酸和編碼鈣調素的鈣結合序列(CaM序列)的核苷酸中的一個核苷酸與編碼螢光蛋白的核苷酸的5'端側結合,另一個核苷酸與編碼螢光蛋白的核苷酸的3'端側結合。由該DNA編碼的鈣報告蛋白由於具有ckkap序列作為結合鈣的CaM序列的結合域,因此與現有的鈣報告蛋白相比顯示出優異的螢光性質和鈣反應性。
