本書重視教師基於學生主體特點開展教學，從而引導學生高效參與，增強學習獲得感。書中系列任務的設計符合學生的認知規律，通過提供漸進干預和指導，引導學生由簡到繁、由易到難逐步完成學習任務，幫助學生實現從“工具調節”到“他人調節”再到“自我調節”的飛躍。
