《超越的可能:作為知識分子的喬叟》從“知識分子”的視角，以知識分子的社會功能和智慧品質為線索，將“英國詩歌之父”喬叟置於古今中外各種參照系裡，結合文學文本分析和對中世紀英國社會、政治、性別和文化狀況的追溯，探討喬叟文學創作與歷史語境的互動關係，解讀詩人文本策略的社會意義，揭示喬叟不僅具備廣義知識分子的博學和智慧，更在某種程度上，扮演了現代知識分子的社會批評者和大眾啟蒙者的角色，藉此論證喬叟具有超越其時代的現代性，反觀當代知識分子研究的局限性。

作者簡介

丁建寧 1967年生，華東師範大學文學博士。現為南京師範大學外國語學院英語系副主任，副教授，碩士研究生導師。主要研究興趣為中世紀英語文學、英國現當代文學和英語教育。
