范蔚茗，1959年2月生，博士，2006年4月—2008年11月任中國科學院廣州地球化學研究所所長，中國地質學會副理事長、中國岩石礦物地球化學學會理事。獲廣東省科學技術一等獎（2006年度）。主要從事岩漿作用、地幔地球化學和大陸岩石圈構造等領域研究。

范蔚茗，1959年2月生，博士，2006年4月—2008年11月任中國科學院廣州地球化學研究所所長，中國地質學會副理事長、中國岩石礦物地球化學學會理事。獲廣東省科學技術一等獎（2006年度）。發表論文60餘篇。
主要從事岩漿作用、地幔地球化學和大陸岩石圈構造等領域研究。明確提出了中新生代華北岩石圈減薄或被破壞的概念，論證了華北克拉通東部自晚古生代以來，有100多公里的岩石圈地幔發生了丟失，岩石圈地幔的性質與現代軟流圈地幔相似，將華北克拉通岩石圈減薄這一科學問題推向了國際學術界；對大別山中生代火山作用的研究提出了大陸深俯衝形成‘三明治’式富集岩石圈地幔的觀點；對東北地區晚中生代火山岩的成因研究，提出蒙古-鄂霍茨克構造帶碰撞效應的後造山伸展區域地球動力學背景的認識；在開展與峨眉山地幔柱有關的岩漿作用研究中，初步確立了揚子陸塊南緣不同岩區晚古生代火山岩的岩石地球化學特徵。
