在一個名叫Whoville 的小鎮, 人們都生活得恬靜愉快, 也都很喜歡過聖誕節, 除了一個人，這個人就是"聖誕怪傑"。他是一個暴躁的綠色怪物，住在小鎮旁的一個山頂上。他痛恨聖誕節, 恨不得讓整個節日停止下來。 於是，他去郵局破壞郵件的投遞, 嚇唬街上在節日中購物的行人。 "聖誕怪傑"發誓要徹底破壞聖誕節, 他打扮成聖誕老人, 騎著用廢銅蘭鐵敲打出來的雪橇, 到每個鎮上人的家裡偷盜。這時一個6歲的女孩Cindy出現了, 她想知道聖誕節的真正意義是什麼, 也想了解為什麼"聖誕怪傑"的脾氣那么古怪.。但是最後，Cindy和"聖誕怪傑" 成為了好朋友。 Cindy使"聖誕怪傑"更加了解自己, "聖誕怪傑"也意識到特力獨行使他錯過了美好生活。
