劇情簡介
弗蘭克是個規規矩矩的動物園管理人，但並不是一個健康的傢伙。他自己知道這一點，他年輕的女兒沙恩和女兒的老師博伊德夫人也知道這一點。某天，貪嘴的他誤吃掉一隻被猴子口水污染過的雞蛋，鏡頭跟著雞蛋來到他的咽喉，腸胃……於是在弗蘭克的體內，更準確地說，在他的血液里，發現了一個叫作奧茲的白血球。和所有的白血球一樣，奧茲的工作就是每天在血液里不停地巡視，對付那些敢於滋擾人體的細菌啦，病毒啦什麼的，別看肩負這么艱巨的任務，但奧茲可不是個循規蹈矩的人，不，應該說不是個循規蹈矩的白血球，他天性浪蕩散漫，最抗拒那些條條框框的規定紀律，就喜歡證明自己是個與眾不同的“個性”細胞。弗蘭克-德托里的身體越變越糟，就連他的好朋友鮑勃也察覺到了他的異樣。很多人看到弗蘭克，都覺得他再也不是以前那個強壯的貼海報的人了。
也許是為了約束他，奧茲的上司派給他一個新搭檔——專門照本宣科的新型感冒藥片德雷克斯，兩個性情習慣截然不同的傢伙硬湊到一起當然少不了吵架拌嘴，就在他們互不相讓的時候，弗蘭克吃下的那個
蘋果帶來了一種危險的病毒斯瑞克司，這個威力強大的病毒在弗蘭克體內肆意橫行，不可一世。不幸的是，他和他的搭檔德雷克斯——一種12小時作用的止痛感冒膠囊只能為富蘭克止痛一小會。
為了盡到自己身為一個白血球的的神聖責任，為了挽救富蘭克的生命，奧茲和德雷克斯決定先放下對彼此的成見，攜手並肩共抗外敵。他們兩個人同生物鐘比賽爭分奪秒：避開粘液泥漿、清理毒素以及所有你想像不到的各種工作。這是份很髒的工作，但是這些抗體必須去做。因為每個身體都需要英雄。與此同時，弗蘭克因為身體不適去看醫生，他的醫生也正竭力想找出到底是什麼導致了弗蘭克的病症。

幕後製作
法萊利兄弟這次終於把他們的“魔掌”伸到了動畫領域，在這部真人結合動畫的影片中，兄弟倆著名的“體液笑料”可謂是發揮得出神入化，打噴嚏放屁等等傻瓜幽默層出不窮，看完後人們或許會奇怪何以這兩個人會對這種噁心題材如此熱衷？這部片子最初拿到了一個PG-13的評級，影評人擔心如果有家長帶孩子去收看這部《終極細胞戰》時會產生某種不良影響，華納公司權衡利弊，為了占領暑假這個孩子們最為活躍的時期，決定將片子中太粗俗過分的地方做出相應刪改，這才最終得到了PG級。
在1999年推出了廣受好評的長篇動畫電影《鋼鐵巨人》之後，華納公司十分看好動畫市場，他們想到了一個很能出彩的創意，將人體內的細胞賦予生命，讓他們有思想有性格，成為單獨的個體，不過看看劇情，眼明的觀眾恐怕會一下子聯想到N多電影的情節，《人體旅行》、《致命武器》、《傀儡人生》、《誰陷害了兔子羅傑》乃至最近的《15分鐘》，把這些熟悉的情節放到卡通形象上到底是個什麼味道，只有讓觀眾自己去體味一番了。華納自己倒是顯得相當有信心，片子還沒公映，華納就宣布買斷13個該片的電視劇單元，只等電影上映完再到電視上撈一把。
本片的製作開始時，有傳言說好萊塢金童威爾·史密斯將為片中的動畫男主角奧茲配音，但是在正式公布名單的時候，這個名字換成了克里斯·洛克，不過試看過樣片的觀眾都對洛克的表現很滿意，認為他的聲音更有跳躍感，更活潑，同角色的性格十分配合。而給反面人物——病毒斯瑞克司配音是的黑人男星勞倫斯·費舍伯恩，大家對他在《黑客帝國》里飾演的黑客領袖一定印象猶新，他的聲音渾厚深沉而內斂，這次費舍伯恩將用聲音扮演一個陰險狡詐的反角，想來也很值得影迷們期待。
