劉群英主編的《福建省婦女發展報告(2011版2001-2010)》從社會性別的視角出發，依據《福建省婦女發展綱要(2001～2010年)》的主要目標和策略，全面回顧了21世紀以來的十年問，福建省促進婦女在經濟、參政、教育、健康、法律和環境等六大領域發展的重大舉措和主要進展；運用監測指標和統計數據進行定量分析和定性描述，真實反映了福建婦女事業的發展和進步，總結分析了福建婦女生存、保護、發展的狀況和需要應對的挑戰。通過六個領域的總結報告和專題論述，進一步分析了福建婦女在政府高層的參政比例、女性教育年限的提升以及生態環境和社會環境改善後的幸福感等方面凸顯的特色，也指出了婦女在就業、參政、教育、健康等方面的性別發展不平衡問題，並針對其中的不足提出了推動福建婦女發展的建設性對策和建議。
