主要經歷：
1982年畢業於華中農業大學微生物專業。1982年至1987年在中國農業科學院原子能利用研究所任研究實習員；1987年至2005年供職於中國科學院武漢植物研究所，技術職務歷任助理研究員（1987）、副研究員（1992）、研究員（2000）、首席研究員（2001）；2000年任碩導，2003年任博導；行政職務歷任副處長（1991）、所長助理兼研究室主任（2000）、副所長兼中心主任（2001）；
2006年起引進至武漢大學藥學院，先後任教授、博導、教授委員會副主任（2006）、副院長（2007）、中藥與天然藥物研究所所長（2008）。
2001年至2010年，分別到紐西蘭皇家科學院（2001）、馬來西亞國家醫學研究所（2002）、法國國家健康與醫學研究院（2003）、巴基斯坦喀拉蚩大學H.E.J化學研究所（2005）、美國King Pharmaceuticals, Inc.（2007）、日本富山大學（2008）、英國劍橋大學（2009）、美國奧本大學（2009）和俄羅斯喀山大學（2010）作訪問學者或合作交流。

業績概要
多年來致力於藥用植物資源可持續利用系統的建立、中藥和天然藥物的研究與開發以及地道中藥材的規範化種植與加工，先後主持完成了30多個國家級和省部級的科研項目，共有23項專利分別獲得中國、美國或英國專利授權，獲得3項國家二類新獸藥證書，在國內外發表學術論文100餘篇。
