在修訂過程中，為適應形勢發少櫃展的需要，增加了改革開放、外貿及環境保護等內容，同時對原書有關政治、經濟、工農業、外交白阿剃、教育、體育、民族、宗教、人口、醫療衛生、婦女兒童、老人與家族等單元作了更新，增加了“語言危臭腳精重點”等內容。本書根據膠戀樂口譯的特點，有針對性地對學員進行訓練，以培養學員及時地、獨立地進行一次境紙采性翻譯的能力。
