個人簡介
汪茂教授從1995年加入美國摩托羅拉無線技術研究中心起,一直從事現代無線通信理論研究及技術開發。在摩托羅拉無線技術研究中心期間參與了
CDMA蜂窩系統(2G IS-95、3G WCDMA)設計,共獲二十項美國專利,三次獲重大科技發明獎和傑出成就獎(Distinguished Achievement),被授予傑出科技發明家榮譽稱號(Distinguished Innovator)。在高通研究中心,進行了MediaFLO多媒體廣播系統的研製,成為TIA1099 Terrestrial Multimedia Multicast國際標準,是該系統的主要貢獻者。其後又進行了OFDMA蜂窩系統研發,成為TIA/3GPP2 Ultra Mobile Broadband Air Interface 及IEEE 802.20 Mobile Broadband Wireless Access 兩個國際標準,獲得近四十項相關美國專利,且在IEEE Transactions/Magazine期刊發表十餘篇相關論文,榮獲TIA/3GPP2 Ultra Mobile Broadband Air Interface獎、3GPP2 Ultra Mobile Broadband 成果獎。之後,致力於4G LTE技術的研發,獲得二十多項美國專利。汪茂教授在IEEE Transactions/Magazine等國際通信領域期刊發表論文三十餘篇,迄今共擁有九十多項美國專利。

研究內容
加入東南大學信息科學與技術學院faculty後,汪茂教授致力於現代通信系統的教育與科研。主要研究方向是現代無線網路與移動通信理論與技術(Wireless Networking and Mobile Communications),目前具體內容有:寬頻無線傳輸理論與多址接入技術(wireless multiple access on licensed and unlicensed spectrum);地面及衛星通信(terrestrial and satellite communications);4G LTE及5G移動通信(4G LTE and 5G mobile communications);物聯網無線網路(machine-type communication for IoT),包括車輛物聯網(vehicular IoT)、海事物聯網(maritime IoT)、能源物聯網(energy IoT);多輸入多輸出技術(MIMO networks);無線通信網路仿真系統(wireless network simulations)。現代無線網路與移動通信理論與技術 (Wireless Networking and Mobile Communications):
