湖南澧縣人，上海水產大學淡水漁業專業學士（1994），中科院南京地理與湖泊研究所湖泊生態學專業碩士（2000）、博士（2008）。現為中科院南京地理與湖泊研究所研究員。

曾參與或主持科技部、中科院、農業部及其它地方課題計10餘項。目前主持國家科技支撐計畫項目—水源地取水口藍藻水華削減與水質改善技術研究及示範—子課題1項（經費240萬元），國家基礎研究發展計畫項目—湖泊藍藻水華生態災害形成機理及防治的基礎研究—子課題1項（經費100萬元）。已發表國內外學術論文30篇；授權發明專利5項；課題獲山東省科技進步二等獎、省科技進步一等獎，以及國家科技進步二等獎計3項。
