2005年在四川大學獲學士學位,2011年在倫敦大學瑪麗女王學院獲博士學位,2012年和2015年分別在倫敦大學瑪麗女王學院和牛津大學承擔博士後工作。
2022年3月,任貴州工程套用技術學院校長。

有機電子器件,有機光子學,有機量子磁學和有機自旋電子學。
張嗣傑長期從事有機半導體材料及其器件的研究,前期工作證實了磁場作為一個重要和新的工具可以去幫助人們加深對有機器件中載流子輸運機制的認識,這對進一步推進有機自旋電子學的發展和其相關的套用產業有著基礎科學意義。其研究方向包括:有機電子器件,有機光子學,有機量子磁學和有機自旋電子學。
