劇情簡介
蘇格蘭醫生莫雷在西非新獨立的小國金加夏不辭辛勞給貧民義診，不過他只是本片配角。主角是科林．弗里爾斯飾演的英國大使館一等秘書摩根，他酒色財氣樣樣精通，在非洲小國工作頗有屈屈不得志之感。另一方面，摩根與總統候選人阿德康之妻姦情，被阿德康藉此威脅摩根去說服莫雷同意擴建住宅區賺取巨款。摩根疲於應付各種醜事而辭職不乾，但直至他目睹大善人莫雷被阿德康的手下安排車禍撞成重傷之後，他才對政客的貪婪深切反省，終於決定揭發其中的陰謀。
