《大學通識英語》系列教材具有如下特點:
1.整體設計和編寫結構清晰,邏輯性強,靈活機動,方便教學。《大學通識英語》充分考慮了教育部有關高等教育基礎英語教學要求所明確的學生應當達到的英語學習目標,以及學生和教師在英語學習和教學實際中遇到的各種問題,從確立教學新標準、明確教學方向和目標出發,引導學生和教師有效地、循序漸進地實現既定教學目標。本套教材每個單元輸入內容豐富,並在一開始就交代清楚語法點及“學以致用”(Cando,涵蓋口頭表達、閱讀理解、寫作等多個方面)的學習目標。這種“學以致用”的目標讓學生有了學習的目的和動因,不僅完全清楚為什麼要學習某一課,而且知道如何套用新的語言知識。
