2012年2月ISO/TC268成立以來不斷加快城市可持續發展國際標準研製步伐。截至2017年底，ISO/TC268已經發布國際標準9項，在研13項。為推動ISO/TC268城市可持續發展國際標準在全球範圍內的實施，ISO/TC268成立了TG2，並支持杭州成立了“全球可持續發展標準化城市聯盟”。
