成績
主要從事古生物學及地層學、沉積學、大陸邊緣地質等方面的研究。在青藏高原中新生代地層古生物、沉積及古構造演化，華北早古生代、華南晚古生代地層與沉積古地理以及地質演化旋迴性等方面取得較好研究成果。發表論文78篇，專著3部，主編論文集2部。90年被國務院學位委員會評為“有突出貢獻的中國博士學位獲得者”，91年獲國家教委“霍英東優秀青年教師基金獎”，92年評為“北京地區高校學科（青年）帶頭人”，95年獲“中國優秀博士後獎”；2002獲中國優秀科技圖書二等獎，2003獲中國優秀圖書獎；2003年獲國土資源部“自然科學一等獎”(第2獲獎人)。（20世紀末）負責的重要科研項目14項
