大連理工大學出版社告訴我，他們組織了一個有相當規模的高職教材編委會，而著手編寫高職英語系列教材，則是年初的事。當時，他們找到我，希望提供一些幫助，由於這是自己學校的出版社，也由於我目前擔任“高職高專教育英語課程教學指導委員會”主任的工作，他們的許多想法又符合我國高職英語教學改革的大方向，而推動高職英語教學改革，包括教材改革又是我作為課程指導委員會主任的責任，我便應允了。
