背景介紹

《Thriller》 是世界上有史以來單張銷量最高的唱片，於1982年11月30日發行，是傑克遜的第六個獨唱專輯，它在美國十大歌曲排行榜中連續80周蟬聯冠軍，連續兩年(1983年和1984年)成為美國最暢銷的唱片專輯。美國唱片工業協會認證它的銷量是鉑金唱片的27倍，它在1985年被宣布是有史以來最暢銷的專輯，傑克遜當年贏得了八項葛萊美獎，其中七項獎項與他創作這個專輯的工作有關。

Legacy公司曾於2001年在Michael Jackson發行《Invincible》專輯時發行了全新製作的《Thriller》特別版，傑克遜在這之後就沒有發行過全新的個人專輯（精選等除外）。這張精選集也成為一代流行天王2009年6月25日在美國加州溘然長逝後留下的最後一部作品。

在年終最暢銷流行老專輯榜上，《顫慄》25周年紀念專輯奪得冠軍，此外，在前10名中，傑克遜的冠軍精選《獨一無二》（Number Ones）也名列年終最暢銷流行老專輯榜的第10名。而在年終最暢銷R&B老專輯榜上，《顫慄25》也奪得冠軍，《獨一無二》拿下第四名。

日本發行

日本索尼於2月20日發行25周年紀念版里，特別為日本歌迷收錄一首從來沒有曝光過的新曲目《Got The Hots》。

日本版單曲套裝

這首曲目是當年《Thriller》時期錄製的，本計畫收錄在2001年的特別版里，但後來取消。因此，該曲就從來沒有在之前公開發行過，也沒有被任何人泄露過。對歌迷來說，是一首全新的單曲。至於為什麼只有日本版的《Thriller》收錄這首單曲，這是由於日本版比世界上其它地區的版本都要昂貴。唱片公司為了讓日本歌迷不去其它地區購買相對便宜的版本，所以只好加入新曲目來吸引日本歌迷購買。之前傑克遜的《終極收藏》等專輯的日本版，都加了不少歌曲。此外，這也可以理解為Michael為了感謝日本歌迷的忠誠而做出的特別舉動，畢竟，Michael僅在日本的唱片總銷量就高達一億張。

為期一年的“Thriller播客”於2月12日開播。有四十集，每周一次，在2008年陸續請來音樂界、電影界和文化界的傳奇人物來暢談他們和Michael在一起的經歷，以及他們第一次聽《Thriller》時的感受，以及對各首單曲、錄影等的看法。

顫慄造型的“泰迪熊”

英國的Bad Taste Bear(BTB)公司也是擁有巨多泰迪熊的收藏者俱樂部，這些收藏大部分來自考文垂的圖型設計師Peter Underhill的手下。

2008年11月1日，BTB將會在約克大學舉行一個活動，並且推出晚會吉祥物，一隻名叫“Shamone Motha F! Heee hee”的泰迪熊，他的原型來自麥可·傑克遜(Michael Jackson)的“Thriller”造型。

關於這首歌，每個人都想問的問題是：它是不是就是我們已經聽過的那個Akon泄露版？答案是：對的，但又不完全是。Akon在其中的演唱，就和那個泄露版本幾乎一樣。但實際上，在最終版本里，Akon唱得更好，也更小心。音樂也很緊湊。所以之前那個泄露版本應該是個樣帶。真正的《Thriller 25》版本卻更豐滿，並加入了一些Michael在原始版本里的經典唱段。

這首曲目里沒有加入Michael新的演唱，不像《The Girl is Mine》那樣。但是，Michael的唱段卻在剛開始的時候聽起來有點“不同”，不過很快就切換回我們聽過幾千遍的那種版本。這可能是混音造成的效果，也或者是他們加入了一點變調，以此來創造新鮮的聲效。

這是一首流暢的曲目，有著美妙的鋼琴伴奏，而Michael的背景合音則是讓人覺得極度軟柔，儘管很難分辨。“Mamma say mama sah ma coo sa”那段加入了又重又硬的低音部，把音量調到最高的話，絕對可以把掛圖從牆壁上震落下來——於是這有點跳離了潛在的靈歌之聲，慢慢蒸變為一首隻可稱作舞曲的東西。

《For All Time》至少已經在網上泄露了一年，甚至兩年了。這個版本沒有太大的不同，但是它還是有所不同。很明顯，它是被重新數碼加工了，使之有了更清新清楚的音效，並讓Michael的聲部比原來的那個泄露版更加突出。此外，它還有一個不同以往的過門，比那個版本有更多的演唱，所以很可能是來自另外一次錄音。如果你早已愛上這首歌，那么你也會愛上這個版本。在這裡，聲音更加豐滿更加完整，但是依然大致相差不遠。
