根據Dom所述，Sunburn是在錄音室創作的。“當時Matt在鋼琴上反覆彈一個旋律，然後換到吉他，然後我和Chris都加入其中。歌詞的含義是進入一個新的世界，但無論是生理還是心理上，你都意識到它不是你想像的那樣。這首歌恰好創作于樂隊巨大改變的那段時期——包裝、簽約，然後坐頭等艙去洛杉磯。”
