創作背景

《Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of》為保羅·大衛·休森為紀念好友Michael Hutchence而創作的作品。1997年，澳大利亞INXS樂隊主唱Michael Hutchence在悉尼一家飯店的房間裡上吊自盡，可能是他與情人保拉·耶茨的感情糾葛導致他患上抑鬱症所致。Michael Hutchence生前曾和保羅·大衛·休森討論過自殺的問題，他們都同意自殺是一種可悲的行為，並且彼此承諾不去跨過只會讓事情變得愚蠢的那條界限。當保羅·大衛·休森聽到Michael Hutchence的死訊時感到內疚、憤怒和煩惱，於是創作了該曲。

米克·賈格爾最初在錄音室為這首歌的專輯版本錄製了一些和聲，但沒有出現在最終發行版本中。2009年，在搖滾名人堂成立25周年的紀念演唱會，米克·賈格爾與保羅·大衛·休森合作進行了現場表演。
