2023年年末，利爾·烏茲·弗特宣布在發行最後一張錄音室專輯《Luv Is Rage 3》後退出音樂界，並希望自己能過上普通人的生活，《Red Moon》則反映了利爾·烏茲·弗特在錄製《Luv Is Rage 3》時的心態，也是他送給歌迷的一份聖誕驚喜禮物。該曲由TM88、Slo Meezy、C$D Sid、FNZ與Macnificent參與製作，將獨立流行樂隊Cafuné的歌曲《Tek It》進行了採樣。
在單曲封面及MV上，利爾·烏茲·弗特通過“愛情也許不是真實的，但通過想像，我可以讓任何事物成真（Love isn’t real, but with my imagination, I can make anything real.）”的字樣，表達了自己的心境。
