馬修·史蒂芬·沃德，藝名M. Ward， 是來自美國的歌手和吉他手，也是美國獨立流行樂隊 She & Him 和民謠樂隊 Monsters of Folk 的主要成員。沃德最喜愛的歌曲是“Amazing Grace” （中文翻譯為《奇異恩典》，也有人稱《天賜恩寵》）。他的贊助商是Gibson Guitars ,他使用的吉他就是該公司出產的Johnny A。 他的父親很喜歡Johnny Cash，母親則是個古典音樂愛好者，因此他在成長過程中受鄉村音樂和古典音樂的影響比較大。

1999年，他的首個專輯 Duet for Guitars #2, 由 Howe Gelb出品。01年他發行了自己的專輯End of Amnesia，出品方是Future Farmer Records。他參與過許多樂隊專輯和單曲的錄製，編曲，如Cat Power, Neko Case, Beth Orton, The Court & Spark, Bright Eyes, Jenny Lewis , and My Morning Jacket.
2005年，他參與了Burtch, Lytle 和 Fairchild 組織的一個項目 Arizona Amp and Alternator。
2006年，參與製作了向 John Fahey 致敬的專輯 I Am the Resurrection，還貢獻了一首單曲，Norah Jones的專輯 Not Too Late 里也有他的聲音。紐西蘭電影 Eagle vs Shark 還收錄了他翻唱的 David Bowie的歌曲 "Let's Dance" 作為插曲。SHE & HIM
06年他出版了專輯 Post-War，初次遇見女演員 Zooey Deschanel, 併合作了一首二重唱。後來他們組建了INDIE POP樂隊：She & Him 。他們的首張專輯取名為 Volume One， 由沃德擔任製作人，Merge Records 出品，發行於2008年3月18日。之後他們還陸續出版了Volume Two 和一張聖誕專輯，在業內反響都不錯。他和Deschanel擔任了第九屆獨立音樂獎的評審 Independent Music Awards.2009年，他還發行了自己第六張個人專輯 Hold Time。SHE & HIM 在表演中
沃德還曾是樂隊 Rodriguez 的一員，他們的作品有wing Like a Metronome。他的另一個樂隊 Monsters of Folk, 也出版了同名專輯。
