創作背景
《Kill Bill》的靈感來源於同名電影《殺死比爾》中新娘的復仇故事。羅伯·比塞爾首先在錄音室用合成器錄了幾個和弦。卡特·朗接手後為和弦填上了打擊樂——用踩鑔（Hi-Hat）演奏了幾個十六分音符，加上了聽起來有彈性的踢鼓（Kicks），還加上了快節奏的808小鼓。之後，他又用從vintage鼓機導入了他喜歡的聲音，使得歌曲具有更多的搖擺感。接著，他又加入了電貝斯和吉他。他在一個片段調低一個八度，並讓鼓的速度減慢兩倍，做出了歌曲最初的鼓點（beats）。他給這個鼓點起名為“Igloo”。幾周后，他們在錄音室把這個片段放給SZA聽。當時SZA看起來只是安靜地坐在錄音室後面玩手機，沉默了十分鐘後，她有了靈感，唱出了歌曲的副歌部分，花了一個小時寫出了這首歌。

SZA在《Kill Bill》中用搖籃曲般甜滋滋地低吟唱著驚悚的劇情。SZA在開頭揶揄自己真夠成熟，竟然還知道去看心理治療師討一句天涯何處無芳草。看著舊愛與新歡幸福的模樣，她從萌生殺意，走向雙手沾滿鮮血，但她心中無悔，並且揚言自己是清醒地做出這些傻事，寧可下地獄，也不想孤單一人。不知是旋律，還是歌詞，這首報復聽來很舒坦。這首歌曲講的是把前任殺掉的故事，聽起來或許聳動，但如果放入歌曲所在的專輯《SOS》之中，這股憤怒的力量恰恰呈現了脆弱的真實。
