惠特妮·休斯頓在《I'm Your Baby Tonight》中首次嘗試了New Jack Swing風格，該風格的兩位主要發起人L.A. Reid和Babyface擔任了該曲的製作人。惠特妮·休斯頓在錄音室錄製該曲時，她直接將主要人聲移至副歌部分，而後完美地演唱了多條音軌並將其重疊起來，接著她相繼完成了背景人聲以及和音的錄製和編排，一旁的L.A. Reid為惠特妮·休斯頓的演唱技巧所折服。
