《I Don't Want to Talk About It》由Danny Whitten創作，在1971年發行於Danny Whitten所在的樂隊Crazy Horse的同名專輯《Crazy Horse》中。
在1975年，著名搖滾歌手Rod Stewart重新演繹了這首歌，並收錄於其專輯《Atlantic Crossing》中，發行之後便取得了巨大的成功，一舉成為1979年美國"BillboardHot 100"前50熱門金曲。
在1988年6月，夫妻檔樂隊Everything but the Girl發行了他們的翻唱版本，同樣也取得巨大成功，最高時曾占據英國"UK Singles Chart"第三位。
張國榮的歌曲《情難自控》亦是改編自此歌，另外華人歌手張惠妹、王傑等也都翻唱過。目前傳頌的多為Rod Stewart的版本和Everything but the Girl的版本。

Rod Stewart（洛史都華），全名Roderick David Stewart（洛德 戴維德 斯蒂沃特，又譯名）——1945年1月10日出生在英國倫敦的一戶蘇格蘭人家庭。Rod Stewart曾經是世界上最出色的搖滾歌手之一，更有“搖滾鐵公雞”的美稱。同時也是最有才華的詞曲作者之一，是美國樂壇六十年代中期的英國入侵浪潮之後的標誌性人物之一。
