創作背景

最開始，伴唱該首歌曲的說唱歌手並不是史努比狗狗，而是說唱歌手Plies。2006年7月，Plies和他同伴在佛羅里達洲蓋恩斯維爾的夜店表演時，在得知需要把原定的表演時間減少15分鐘來給另一位受邀說唱歌手Lil Boosie演出後，Plies向現場觀眾開槍，導致5人受傷，之後他和朋友被逮捕。之後，阿肯與史努比狗狗的工作團隊達成協定，兩人互相在對方的專輯裡伴唱一首歌，於是這首歌開始由史努比狗狗伴唱。

歌曲的原本名字叫《I Wanna Fuck You》，但由於為了迎合大眾，於是電台發出的歌名就變成了《I Wanna Love You》。
