生平與主要著作
1770年 8月 27日生於德國符騰堡公國首府斯圖加特。1831年 11月14 日卒於 柏林。1788年10月黑格爾到圖賓根神學院學習哲學和神學。1801年來到了當時德國哲學和文學的中心耶拿，開始了他一生中具有決定意義的一個階段。1805年獲得副教授職。1816年黑格爾到海德堡任哲學教授，開始享有盛譽。1818年普魯士國王任命黑格爾為柏林大學教授。1822年，黑格爾被任命為大學評議會委員 。1829年10月黑格 爾被選為柏林 大學校長並 兼任政 府代表 。1831年黑格爾被授予三級紅鷹勳章，同年夏他的《論英國改革法案》一文發表，因普魯士國王下令中止，文章只發表了前半部分。主要著作包括《 精神現象學 》、《邏輯學》、《哲學全書 》（ 其中包括 邏輯學、自然 哲學、精神哲學 3 部分）、《 法哲學原理 》、《 美學講演錄 》、《哲學史講演錄》、《歷史哲學講演錄》等等。
