Abstract
One of the most popular copolymers widely used in the manufacturing of soft contact lenses is from 2-Hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA) monomer. Recent research progress in the field of copolymers are summarized in this review, including the soft contact lenses history and classification, copolymerization reaction related to HEMA and other monomers, the copolymers performances and application in drug delivery system.
