背景
這首歌是講述Gaga與呂克·卡爾Luc Carl在2007年間的關係，並且特別講述Luc Carl對他的愛車（綠色雪佛蘭埃爾卡米諾）的愛。《Glitter And Grease》是Lady Gaga未正式出道時所錄的一首單曲，由Gaga前男友Rob Fusari和Gaga本人所作。這首歌以《Glitter & Grease》在ASCAP註冊, 但是在BMI註冊時是使用"《Glitter And Grease》"這個名字的。

在The Monster Ball第二版開始前，Gaga曾在Twitter講過：
“rub that glitter + grease around, can't wait for you to see the new show little monsters! ”（擦得閃光然後上油，我已經等不及讓你看到全新的表演了！小怪物們！）
而在The Monster Ball第二版巡演時，這首歌被安插在《Dance in the dark》和《Just Dance》之間，也就是巡演的第二首歌。Glitter and Grease也是唯一一首未發行的歌曲（除了後來分別在6月和8月補上的《You and I》《Living on the radio》）。表演的時候舞台會出現一台汽車（車頭蓋有台電子琴）。這首歌以現場版本收錄在專輯《The Monster Ball Tour》。

Lady Gaga，1986年3月28日出生於美國紐約曼哈頓，美國流行歌手、詞曲創作者、慈善家、演員。
2006年1月，以真名發行首張EP《Red And Blue》，2008年10月，Gaga發行首張錄音室專輯《The Fame》，其中囊括Billboard Hot 100冠軍單曲《Just Dance》與《Poker Face》。2009年11月發行EP《The Fame Monster》。2010年，Lady Gaga被《時代》周刊評為百大最有影響力文化人物之一。2011年，第二張錄音室專輯《Born This Way》於5月23號正式推出。2011年6月被《福布斯》雜誌評為世界百位名人之首，2012年榮登福布斯最具潛力明星榜榜首。2013年11月11日，推出個人第三張錄音室專輯《ARTPOP》。2014年9月23日發布了與Tony bennett合作的專輯《Cheek to Cheek》。2016年發行第五張錄音室專輯《Joanne》
