Often filmed covertly, Garden Dwelling is a video essay which explores the absurd, ironic and sobering encounters of a trip by four Armenians from the Diaspora to their historic homeland (presently Eastern Turkey). Juxtaposed with shot-form-the-hip travel footage are news broadcasts, movie clips and impromptu interviews that position the mulit-layered geopolitics within the region. Their anticipation upon visiting this comples place where they feel both at home and estranged, collide and collude with the realities they encounter.
