Dr. Cairo obtained his PhD from the London School of Economics (LSE) where he also obtained a MSc. degree. Before that he studied International Relations atthe Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam and Law at the Rijksuniversiteit of Leiden.
Dr Cairo joined Surrey’s School of Management (currently Surrey Business School) in 2006. He was Programme Leader of the School’s MSc. in Management, Chair of the Joint Student and Staff Liaison Committee and Module Leader in International Trade at both BSc. and MSc. Level.He also worked as a freelance country analyst at the Latin American and Caribbean Desk of the Economist Intelligence Unit and he is also a former telecoms analyst at Tarifica, London.
Dr Cairo’s research interests includeThe Political Economy of International Trade, The WTO, Strategic Business Alliances, Corporate Strategy and the Airline industry.
Dr Cairo is the member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the International Journal of Management and Marketing Research, theReview of Business & Finance Case Studies and the Business Review, Cambridge MA.
